Hi there! My name is Kadar (pronounced like ‘Cotter’), and I currently work as a Technical Systems Engineer at Cisco, specifically as the lead engineer for the IT-managed Linux@Cisco offering for internal employees.

I made this website to capture my thoughts and document/showcase various projects that I’m working on.

I am a Linux and FOSS evangelist - I love supporting open source projects and continue to develop my programming skills to contribute to these projects one day soon. I have a bit of experience in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, VisualBasic (who remembers that?!) and bash scripting, but primarily develop programs in Python

My most recent obsession has been homelabbing and, thanks to the kind folks over on the self hosting sub-reddit, I have a never-ending list of free/open source projects to try out.

Some of my other hobbies include training my awesome dogs Shadow and Luke (Skywalker), video games, amateur (ham) radio, riding motorcycles, camping and hiking.

I am also passionate about animal welfare, and spend several hours a month volunteering for the awesome Animal Protection Society of Durham. There are many awesome, loving dogs in need of a home. In addition to office/front desk work, I work in a webmaster role to update the status of adoptable dogs and post newly-available dogs for adoption.
